Effect of Liver Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury on Genotoxicity in Rabbits: Experimental Study

چکیده
Objective: Ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) injury is defined as the paradoxical exacerbation of cellular dysfunction and death following restoration blood flow to ischemic tissues. In our study, it was aimed examine potential DNA effects liver IR with an experimental animal model. Material Methods: modeling done seven male New Zealand rabbits. Blood samples were taken before model, 30 minutes after ischemia, 60 reperfusion. The damage in rabbits measured using Tail Length, Intensity, Moment techniques. Statistical significance determined one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) Tukey's post hoc test. Results: There are significant differences between control-ischemia, control-reperfusion I-R groups all 3 measurements. length; increased by 51.84%, 54.16% ischemia reperfusion, respectively. length 134.09% control Similarly, tail density moment 78.95% (after ischemia), 77.96% reperfusion), 85.54% 165.52% reperfusion) Conclusion: Tissue disruption known occur tissue hypoxia that triggers anaerobic respiration. Restoring a hypoxic-tissue results increase reactive oxygen species production. Literature stated I/R-related may result from formation radicals during reperfusion period. Moreover, induces oxidative exceeds antioxidative capacity circulating leukocytes, leading damage. lesions characteristic mediated free detected at significantly level

متن کاملProtective Effect of Folic Acid against Apoptosis Induced by Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Rat Liver
The anti-apoptotic gene bcl-2 is located in mitochondria, but it is uncertain whether its expression affects hepatocyte survival in ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. This experiment was designed to evaluate the role of folic acid in expression of bcl-2 in I/R in rat liver. Eighteen Wister rats were divided into sham-operated controlgroup (C) (n=6), I/R group (...

Objective(s): The objectives of the current study were to evaluate the effects of hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury on the activity of antioxidant enzymes, biochemical factors, and histopathological changes in rat kidney, and to investigate the effect of crocin on IR-related changes. Materials and Methods: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were randomly allocated into four groups (n=8). The...
متن کاملMelatonin Protective Effects against Liver Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury
Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) is a common phenomenon during liver surgery, transplantation, infection and trauma which results in damage and necrosis of the hepatic tissue through different pathways. Mechanisms involved in I/R damage are very intricate and cover several aspects. Several factors are involved in I/R-induced damages; briefly, decrease in sinusoidal perfusion and ATP generatio...
متن کاملEffects of Atorvastatin on Experimental Spinal Cord Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Rabbits.
AIM Extent of secondary injury is the determinant of tissue destruction and functional worsening after primary spinal cord injury (SCI). Data have accumulated on alleviation of secondary injury in SCI from many studies on the subject. Besides its cholesterol lowering effects, statins are known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects which are the main targets of spinal cord research....
